Zhangbei in the northwest part of China is the birthplace of the first-ever, meshed VSC HVDC grid. With vast natural resources, the region harnesses wind, solar, and pumped storage energy to achieve the demands of the region – and even a greener 2022 Winter Olympics! Hitachi Energy has supplied its leading HVDC technology to the region, including HVDC Light® converter valves, high-power semiconductors, transformers, high-voltage capacitors, and wall bushings, among others. This is yet another example of how Hitachi Energy is advancing a sustainable energy future for all - for today`s generations and those to come.
